The Miraculous Incense

At a command, a thin smoke wafts from the item. This some has a pleasant and relaxing smell (Imaginem requisite). The smoke (and smell) will spread as ordinary incense-smoke, but is usually not dense enough to be seen except just by the item itself. The smoke has no penetration and so will be kept away by even the weakest magic resistance.
Base 1, +1 Touch, +2 Sun, +1 Imaginem requisite, +1 Unnatural – based on Air’s Ghostly Form, CrAu 5, ArM5, p. 125.

Provenance and history

Some uncertainty exist regarding the exact provenance of this item. It is known to have been created by Adrendus of Verditius, probably during a stay at Triamore covenant, but this is not certain. Adrendus was an active and for his age fairly well known Peregrinatores in the Rhine tribunal during the first half of the 12th century. Sadly he was eaten by a large dragon-like being living somewhere in the Harz mountains around 1167 AD.

The item appears to have been created as a gift or bribe to an influential cleric – probably a bishop, both due to its price and because some of its effects are designed to affect such a large building. The item was recovered from a church near the Prague, by a grog named Bedrich who was blessed with the ability to sense the presence of magics, if not with much in the way of intelligence. He claimed to have picked it up because it was a magical object inside a church and he “figured one of them high mystics musta dropped it”.

It was donated to this collection by Gilarius of house Flambeau, who noted that it seemed designed to mimic minor miracles.

Hooks

Clearly this was made to mimic minor miracles, but why?
