The Infernal Peacocks of the Fallen Tytalus

Materials

This decorative roundel is carved from marble. There is some question as to if it was painted when in situ in the laboratory of its creator.

Enchantments

The item is enchanted for laboratory use.

Provenance and History

The item first appears in Hermetic history during the Corruption of House Tytalus, but it may be far older. The marble it is created from seems to come from a quarry it Italy, so its collection in Normandy implies travel.

It seems to have been looted from a laboratory during the fall of the Corrupted. This is unusual: House Guernicus took strident measures to ensure the utter destruction of infernal artefacts. It then remained in the laboratories of a series of dubiously moral Jerbiton magi until the final one was Marched by another Jeribton, after an argument concerning a mistress. Their argument is famous in certain circles, as this violent falling out over love (or its proximate emotions) has great human interest.

Hooks

  • How did the item avoid destruction, and were other items also saved?
  • Did the Jerbiton lineage who held this item fall into corruption, or were their sins the sort of pitiful things people do sometimes, if just left to their own vices?
